Supply list—Xerox Paper Lithography & Watercolor Monoprinting

Instructor: Erin Robin

  • Printmaking papers such as Rives BFK or Arches Cover  at least 2-4 sheets of 22 x 30 white, off white, or cream only – we will learn how to tear down sheets *NO WATERCOLOR PAPER
  • 1 small dish sponge (cut in ½ - one for ink & gum wiping and one for water only)
  • Small plastic bowl for water
  • Watercolor Brushes
  • Good quality watercolors
  • Watercolor pencils
  • Caran d’Ache
  • Fresh high contrast Xerox copies or images (photos or magazine clippings) to make into Xerox copies

The Museum Will Provide
*If students have any of the supplies below and want to bring them to the workshop, they are welcome to do so.

  • Beveled Plexiglas to run through the press 11 x 14 (one for each student)
  • Plexiglas inking pallet 16 x 20 (one for each student)
  • Gum Arabic – put into an old dish soap bottle
  • Oil based printmaking inks for etching such as Graphic Chemical – process black, process blue, process yellow, magenta, burnt sienna
  • Easy wipe (ink modifier in can)
  • Shellac
  • Rubber brayers
  • 1 package of cheesecloth
  • Fine grain sandpaper
  • Cooking oil for clean up
  • Spray bottle of ½ water / ½ dish soap  for clean up
  • 2 rolls of paper towels for clean up
  • 1 pad - 100 sheet newsprint 18 x 24 inch (to use as registration method and sizing catcher)
