Ultra-Realistic Sculpture by Marc Sijan
November 13, 2010 – January 16, 2011
Marc Sijan creates incredibly lifelike figures, based on individuals he knows well. His interest goes
beyond anatomy and anecdote, as he attempts to convey character and movement. The artist describes his
goal: “I want to give it life so it doesn’t come off rigid. I’m trying to create energy and motion without
showing a great deal of action, a natural, very fluid look. I’m making my art believable, it goes beyond
the physical to the inner spirit and soul of the person.”
