Annual Giving
It’s a very special time at the Delaware Art Museum: the Museum is 100! Please consider making a meaningful gift in honor of the Museum’s Centennial year. It’s easy to give online.
Did you know that the Delaware Art Museum was founded in 1912 by a handful of concerned citizens like you? They loved and admired the artist, illustrator, and teacher Howard Pyle, and were grieving his death at the too-young age of 58. These citizens came together to raise a substantial amount of money to ensure that Howard Pyle’s legacy would remain intact and in Wilmington.
Howard Pyle’s pirates, knights, and other fanciful characters became the bedrock of the Delaware Art Museum’s collection, and the Museum is celebrating his legacy with a groundbreaking exhibition, Howard Pyle: American Master Rediscovered.
The Delaware Art Museum has changed so much in its 100 year history. In the early years, it didn’t have a permanent home. Instead, it displayed its exhibitions at the Wilmington Public Library and the Hotel du Pont. Imagine if those first donors could see where we are now!
When you give to the Delaware Art Museum today, you are helping a child experiment with paint on canvas for the first time. You are helping a retiree find their creative voice in a pottery class. You are bringing in special needs students for a private tour. You are spreading creativity, excitement, and delight into every corner of our community. You are making our city and region a better place.
It’s easy to be a donor to the Delaware Art Museum. Just click here and you can make your Annual Fund gift online. You can even spread your donation out over several months to better fit your budget.
Thank you for considering a gift to the Delaware Art Museum during this special time.
Sincerely, |
