Practice basic drawing techniques. Learn about line, value, perspective, and composition. Produce quick sketches and complete drawings ranging from still life to the human form using pencil, chalk pastel, and more.
Supply List
  • Mixed Media pad, 9”x12” (20 sheets is more than enough) 
  • Sketching paper/Drawing paper, 8” x 10” or larger (Can just be printer paper; 50 sheets is more than enough)   
  • Vine charcoal Soft or Medium, 3 sticks is plenty 
  • Graphite Pencils, one of each HB,2B, 8B or a small set that includes these 
  • Plastic eraser  - Can be any color, pink pearl works fine 
  • Pencil sharpener  
  • Small set of chalk or soft pastels, 6 colors is plenty 
  • Masking tape or painters tape 
  • Kneadable eraser 
  • Optional: Workable Spray Fixative- this helps prevent your charcoal and soft pastel from smearing
