Enameling techniques in the class range from Champlevé and Basse-taille to graphite drawing with a focus on enamel application, fusing, color, texture.
Supply List

First Day:

  • 20ga 6x12" sheet of copper (to be cut down in class)
  • Old Magazine (to be ripped apart)
  • Dust mask or respirator (for glass dust and particles)
  • Dark sunglasses
  • Personal enamels (3 colors) from Thompson enamels (2 opaque 1 transparent)

Later:

  • Small paint pallette with individual cells (cover preferred)
  • Small soft paint brushes x3
  • Graphite pencil (mechanical or wood)

Optional:

  • 1-5 additional enamel colors of students choosing
  • Copper blanks in various shapes
  • Plastic tray/shallow bin with lid (students may bring their own to transport their work area)
