Given this 2020 year, people have lived through and continue to experience big, life-changing moments in the wake of the global pandemic. Join fellow writers as we come together in the midst of this storm to create and do what only we can–write the truth of our own experience.

In the spirit of Audre Lorde who speaks of owning one’s voice by speaking it aloud, this course will explore the big moment(s) in one’s life–the ones that are too big it often seems to wrestle them onto a page. Explore and reflect on how to write these moments authentically across genres and together we will experience this writing journey together – as a way of tapping into parts of ourselves worth expressing on the page.

This 3-week virtual class is open for all genres and levels of writers. Participants will create together, share work, and workshop ways of voicing that work. The course is led by Dr. Traci Currie. Currie is a seasoned poet who specializes in performance.

Registration required. After registration is complete, you will receive an email with the link and details on how to join the Zoom meeting. If you do not receive a link, please check your spam folder or reach out to us at rdereus@delart.org.
