Museum Ambassador (Part-time)

The Delaware Art Museum is seeking experienced customer service professionals, preferably with a security and artistic background, to join our recently formed Museum Ambassadors team. Respected and trusted members of the Museum staff, our Ambassadors will ensure our guests receive high quality customer service while also keeping the artwork protected. Ambassadors will divide their time between maintaining a care-taking presence in the galleries and operating the security console behind-the-scenes. Ambassadors will be trained in guest services, security and safety best practices, and the Museum’s collections and exhibitions. The Museum is looking for individuals with a passion for customer service and art as we commence this new program.

The Museum Ambassador will:

  • Ensure our Museum guests have an outstanding visitor experience.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the Museum’s collection.
  • Be the congenial bridge between the Museum’s guests and artwork security.
  • Maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
  • Be fully up to date on all best practices outlined in the Museum’s manuals, policies & procedures, and emergency plans and responses.

We are seeking enthusiastic candidates with knowledge and/or experience:

  • Problem solving and creative thinking.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Windows and Excel.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Security experience a plus.
  • Highly motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Embraces Delaware Art Museum’s mission and programs.
  • A collegial attitude and sense of humor.
