Adult Group Visits
The Delaware Art Museum offers both guided and unguided experiences. Advance purchase is required to obtain group rates and tours.
Adult Guided Tours
Adult guided tours are available to groups of 10 or more. Our one-hour tours offer three engaging ways to experience DelArt’s collections. Tours are led by knowledgeable facilitators and can be tailored to your group’s interests and pace. Please detail specific requests when requesting your tour.
All of our guided tours consist of an interactive and conversational approach. Our educated tour facilitators engage in deep discussions with visitors about the work in our collection through close looking, inquisitive questions, and knowledge sharing.
Adult Guided Tour options include:
Highlights of the Collection
Explore standout works across DelArt’s permanent collection. Groups may explore with stops in American Illustration, Early American Art, Pre-Raphaelite Art, and Contemporary Art galleries. Highlight tours give groups the option to explore some of our most beloved galleries, providing an enriching experience and holistic knowledge of our Museum. (Galleries explored during this tour option varies and is based on availability.)
Current Special Exhibition Tour
Step inside DelArt’s special exhibition gallery for a guided tour of select exhibitions currently on view. Your tour facilitator will provide key themes, context, and close-looking prompts to enrich the experience, with time for discussion, and questions along the way. If you want more information on our current special exhibition or special request, please contact our School and Tour Coordinator at anelson@delart.org. View all current exhibitions.
Tour of The Pre-Raphaelite Galleries
DelArt is renowned for its Pre-Raphaelite holdings, with the largest collection outside of the U.K. This tour focuses exclusively on the Museum’s Pre-Raphaelite galleries, highlighting major artists, signature themes, and the movement’s enduring influence. It’s a strong choice for groups who want a focused, in-depth experience with one of DelArt’s widely popular collections.
Adult Unguided Groups
We invite unguided groups of 25 or more to explore the museum on their own. Museum Admission includes access to an audio tour of the permanent collection—available through the Bloomberg Connects app or via QR codes with personal smartphones.
Groups of 25 or more are eligible for discounted tickets. To be eligible for discounted group pricing, groups must make reservations (include form link?) at least one week in advance of your visit date.
Booking information
All group tour requests must be submitted through our online tour request form below at least four weeks prior to your visit. Upon completion of the form, you will receive an automatic message confirming receipt. A member of our team will follow up to confirm tour details and answer any questions.
Fees
Guided Tours: The cost is $18.50 per person, which includes a tour facilitator for up to 15 people. A Delaware Art Museum tour facilitator can accommodate up to 15 visitors per tour. For larger groups, we may split the group into smaller ones, requiring an additional facilitator. If needed, the cost of an additional facilitator is $25 each.
Unguided group visits: Groups of 25 or more receive a discounted rate of $16 per person. (The standard general admission fee for adults is $18 per person.)
Please note: Select special exhibitions may require an additional fee per person, in addition to the per person group rate.
Members are free but are excluded from the minimum booking requirement. A guided tour requires a minimum of ten Non-Member participants, in addition to any Members.
Lunch Arrangements
Group Catering options from Kaffeina, DelArt’s boutique café, are available for all tours for an additional cost. Due to space limitations, a $50 facility fee applies for indoor lunch arrangements for up to 60 people. Groups may also enjoy lunch outdoors on the North Terrace at no extra charge, weather permitting.
Payment
A 20% deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance is due at the time of visit.
