The Delaware Art Museum welcomes all researchers who have an interest in our collections, which includes the permanent collection as well as the Helen Farr Sloan Library & Archives. Library staff can answer brief collections-based inquiries from off-site researchers by phone, email, or mail. Helen Farr Sloan Library & Archives

The Helen Farr Sloan Library & Archives is the research center of the Museum, housing over 40,000 volumes and 2,000 linear feet of archival materials. This non-circulating collection includes monographs, exhibition catalogs, periodicals, reference works, and vertical files relating to individual artists. In addition, the Helen Farr Sloan Library & Archives holds the personal papers of artists and collectors who are represented in the Museum’s permanent collection, such as John Sloan and the Eight, Howard Pyle and his students, and Samuel Bancroft, Jr. See Helen Farr Sloan Library & Archives
