Spotlight Talk: Art & Connection with the Vovchenko Family

DelArt is pleased to welcome Anastasiia, Kateryna, and Nazar Vovchenko back to the stage for this Spotlight Talk. Gallery Learning Assistant, Joe Soler, sits down with these three impressive young adults to discuss their experiences with the arts across cultures.

The Vovchenko Family arrived in Delaware from Ukraine in 2022. While in Ukraine, the family lived in a culture infused by the arts, which greatly enriched their lives. After arriving in the United States they had to navigate a very different lifestyle in which engagement with the arts is very different, but they found their way. After participating in a Cyanotype-making workshop with John Cox from the University of Delaware, their engagement with the arts in Delaware began, and has only continued to grow through their participation with the Citizen Artist Summit at the Delaware Art Museum, as well as a Pop Up Tour during the Delaware Art Museum’s summer Happy Hours series.
