February’s DelArt Night Poetry As Activism celebration showcases women poets and visual artists. This event is the culminating celebration of Dr. Traci Currie’s completion of the Poetry As Activism residency program at the University of Delaware in Spring 2024. Numerous collaborative programs and workshops, including a partnership with The Delaware Art Museum, were created during this time, thus the continued partnership to create space for women’s narratives across the cultural spectrum.

The celebration will explore activism through poetry performance readings and the Poetry as Activism art exhibition. Programming will also include a special dedication to Nikki Giovanni, one of the most influential poets and voices of our time. This reflective moment will pay tribute to a legend whose words have shaped generations. The dedication will be an intimate after-party featuring a curated playlist of Nikki Giovanni’s work. Mingle, connect, and celebrate her enduring impact in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere.
