Emerge is for artists who are already doing the work and are ready for it to actually work. Now, coming to New Castle County in partnership with the Delaware Art Museum.

What is Emerge?

Most artists aren’t struggling because of their work. They’re struggling because no one ever taught them how to run the business behind it.

Emerge is a structured program designed to help artists build sustainable, real creative careers — not just make work and hope it sells.

Emerge was built by artists who went through that exact process… figuring it out the hard way, making mistakes, and rebuilding something that actually works.

Who is DAC?

The Developing Artist Collaboration (DAC) is a nonprofit based in Rehoboth Beach, DE, dedicated to artist workforce development.

Is there a cost?

Thanks to support from the Delaware Division of the Arts, we’re able to offer subsidized pricing for Emerge based on financial need. So while the full program is $2500, many artists are able to participate at a significantly reduced rate based on individual need. Most artists pay far less than $2,500, some as little as $750.

Why Emerge?

Most artists are expected to figure out pricing, marketing, finances, time management, and growth… alone. That’s where things start to break down, and quite often they give up.

Emerge gives you structure, tools, and real support from experts and peers so you can actually build something sustainable… not just keep figuring it out as you go.

This isn’t just a program. It’s a shift in how you approach your work, your time, and your business with people who get it.
