Creation Station

Come create with us from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm! Kids and their grown-ups are invited to dive into a world of colorful, quirky materials and let their imaginations soar. There are no rules—just endless possibilities! Dream it, make it, and watch your creativity come to life. All ages.

Studio Explorers

Get hands-on in the Studio with a professional artist! Each month, children and their families create a unique work of art inspired by pieces in our collection—experimenting with new materials and techniques in a creative, welcoming environment. All ages. On-site registration is required.

For March, we will be doing a mixed media piece inspired by Eugenie M. Wireman’s 1909 piece She liked to have the children about her. We will alter photos, decorate, and add a statement about the person in the photo to tell a story. Participants can bring in their own black and white style photos (printed, please!) to use in their artwork, or create a “found photo” style artwork using those provided.

Sessions:
Group 1: 10:15 am – 11:15 am
Group 2: 11:15 am – 12:15 pm
Group 3: 12:15 pm – 1:15 pm

Looking Back, Dreaming Forward

Families are invited to join Looking Back, Dreaming Forward from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm with artist Ellen Cappard. This guided art-making workshop focuses on collage, journaling, and vision boarding as creative tools for storytelling and self-expression. Participants will engage with mentor artworks, practice effective collage techniques, and use guided journaling prompts to reflect on both personal and shared experiences.

Through hands-on collage-making and vision-board creation, families will document meaningful moments, honor growth, and imagine future goals and possibilities. This class encourages participants to work at their own pace in a welcoming, supportive environment, empowering each individual to express their unique voice through layered imagery, words, and creative design.

What to Bring: Copies of photos or meaningful items to include in your collage or vision board. All other materials will be provided.

Kids’ Corner is the Museum’s interactive space for families. Kids’ Corner is open during regular Museum hours. (Please note: During 2nd Sunday, Kids’ Corner access will be limited to Giggles and Tales participants from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm.) Learn more.
