Hip Hop Moments Captured: T. Eric Monroe

New Jersey native T. Eric Monroe offers a vivid look at the 90s hip-hop scene, a genre that influenced culture and social justice. His photography, developed while skateboarding through New York City, captures the raw, street-smart energy of 90s Hip Hop. Monroe’s career began in 1988 when Thrasher magazine recognized his work, and by the early 90s, he was known for photographing hip-hop legends like Tupac Shakur, Nas, and Erykah Badu. His powerful images celebrate and preserve the legacy of this transformative era.
