Book Now

In the new artist’s book “I Wake Again,” Philadelphia-based painter Holly Trostle Brigham investigates the life and work of Elizabeth Siddal, the famous Pre-Raphaelite artist, model and muse.

Join Brigham and poet Angela Alaimo O’Donnell to discuss the making of the artist’s book and the creation of the drawings within it. O’Donnell will also read selected poems from within the book.

Artworks, books, manuscripts and artifacts relating to Elizabeth Siddal will also be on display, including a lock of her iconic red hair as well as original poetry and drawings by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. These items from the Mark Samuels Lasner Collection will accompany the artist’s book on view.

This in-person event is open to the public. Attendance is limited to ensure appropriate social distancing. If the event is full, you will be added to the waiting list.

The event coincides with the Delaware Art Museum’s exhibition ‘I Wake Again’: Holly Trostle Brigham on Elizabeth Siddal, on view through May 29, 2022.

All event attendees must RSVP and will need to show ID upon arrival. In addition, all attendees will need to complete the UD Daily Health Check the day of the event, and show the green icon reflecting health clearance upon arrival. Face masks are required for this event.
