Indigenous Foodways: Yaupon Tea
This program will focus on Yaupon Holly, a native plant that Indigenous communities have brewed into a tea and drank for strength and ceremonies. During the program, participants will learn the history of Yaupon, roast Yaupon, and sample a variety of Yaupon tea blends with Crystal Stokes of Project CommuniTea. Participants are invited to make a small handmade ceramic teacup that the Museum will glaze and fire to be picked up at a later date. In partnership with
Native Roots Farm Foundation and CommuniTea.
