This has been a difficult year for our community. The Museum is committed to helping Wilmingtonians by volunteering and supporting our partners One Village Alliance and West Side Grows. We invite you to join us by helping with the efforts below.
Help Beautify the Freedom Center
One Village Alliance has moved into a new Freedom Center on 31st and Market Streets and needs help making the new space beautiful. Individuals, pods, or household groups will work outside, socially distanced, to paint walls, chalk messages of peace, and help out with exterior cleanup. If you are unable to volunteer, please consider making a donation at iamthevillage.org.
Volunteer with Westside Grows Community: Clean Up and MLK Peace March
10 am – 3 pm
Join Westside Grows for their annual Community Clean Up and MLK Peace March. Volunteers will be cleaning and beautifying local parks at 10 am. Join us at one of our two starting locations: 4th and Rodney Park or Hicks Anderson Community Center. At 2 pm participants can meet for the MLK Peace March starting at Hicks Anderson Community center at 501 N. Madison Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. No pre-registration required. Donate School Supplies to Students in Need
School may look different this year, but students still need supplies to help them learn. Drop off new or like-new supplies at the Delaware Art Museum before January 18, during open hours. One Village Alliance will distribute donations to students who need them in 2021.
Purchase an Art Kit for a Family
Help bring creativity to a family in need this year by donating a Museum Art Kit full of fun art supplies and a project inspired by the Museum’s collection. $20 Donation provides an art kit for 1 family. Make a donation.
