Liz Watkins
Born in Indiana and raised in Delaware, Liz has been writing songs since the age of 12. After experimenting with the piano and playing behind her brother’s drum set, she discovered that the guitar was the natural choice of instrument to enhance her singing and songwriting skills. As a self-taught guitarist, she has acquired guitar playing techniques from James Taylor, Jobim, and Chet Atkins, while her singing and songwriting influences range from Billy Joel, Burt Bacharach, Vince Gill, Stevie Wonder, to Brandon Flowers. She has toured extensively across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australasia, gathering musical inspiration during her travels. Songwriting is considered her primary passion. Her insatiable curiosity about life and extensive travels inform her songwriting, transporting the listener to distant places without leaving their seat. Her repertoire includes bossa nova, jazz, country, pop, Motown, and any other genre that she might add to the setlist at the last second. Currently, she plays music on both sides of the Atlantic, dividing her time between her residences in the Philadelphia area and the south of France.
