Join authors Ibi Zoboi and Dr. Yusef Salaam as they discuss their new Young Adult book, Punching the Air. This free program, the first in a series of virtual programming created by the American Booksellers Association, consists of four meetings that take place on Zoom each Wednesday in October from 2 pm – 3 pm ET.
These meetings feature conversations between the authors and a moderator, touching on themes contained within this dynamic novel in verse, including The Criminalization of Blackness and The Emotional Work of Social Justice.
A limited number of signed copies are available in the Museum Store. You can also purchase the book (not signed) and learn more about the book via our Bookshop page. There is absolutely no purchase required to attend this event or access resources for this series.
Teachers and parents wishing to expand engagement with Punching the Air can download the Educators’ Guide, filled with information, activities, and notes from Zoboi and Salaam.
