Museum Ambassador – Console (Full-time Evenings)
The Delaware Art Museum is seeking an experienced customer service professional, preferably with a security and artistic background, to join our Museum Ambassadors team. Respected and trusted members of the Museum staff, our Ambassadors ensure our guests receive high quality customer service while also keeping the artwork protected. This position primarily operates the security console behind-the-scenes and will at times maintain a care-taking presence in the galleries. Ambassadors are trained in guest services, security and safety best practices, and the Museum’s collections and exhibitions. This is a 40-hour, benefits eligible position with an hourly rate starting at $15.00 with a shift differential for overnight work. The available position requires second shiftwork Monday through Friday 3 pm to 11 pm.
The Museum Console Ambassador will:
- Ensure the protection of the Museum’s collection by monitoring surveillance cameras and relaying information to the Floor Ambassadors concerning and security issues.
- Provide congenial assistance to staff, contractors and guests when arriving and departing for the workday or to provide service.
- Perform two building and facility checks during your shift to ensure the proper functioning and safety of the Museum’s equipment and collection. Report all anomalies to the Operations Manager or Maintenance Tech.
- Develop a strong knowledge of the Museum’s collection.
- Perform floor Museum Ambassador duties when needed.
- Be fully up to date on all best practices outlined in the Museum’s manuals, policies & procedures, and emergency plans and responses.
- Maintain current certification in CPR, First Aid, and use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
