Summer Camp Assistants
The Delaware Art Museum is seeking two Summer Camp Assistants to assist the instructors with youth camp art programs. The Assistants will be the first line of communication with campers, instructors and parents.
The Assistants will receive training and orientation for the camps beginning June 2 from 10:30am-4:30pm. The summer camps begin on June 9. The shifts are 7:30am-1:30pm, and 11:30am -6:00pm Monday–Friday.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Generate class rosters and welcome letters
- Assist with summer art camp by greeting and releasing campers every day, supervising camper breaks and lunches, serving as initial point of contact for parents and teachers, overseeing dismissals at either end of day or students leaving early, and fostering a fun and positive learning environment.
- Track allergies, medical issues that the Museum should be aware of, and photo releases.
- Keep lobby and hallways organized; assist in quick studio cleanups at the end of the day to stay organized and help prepare the classroom for the following week.
- Assist with communications to students and parents, manage forms and paperwork.
- Help coordinate teambuilding activities and art therapy initiatives.
- At the end of each session, assist with setup up and breaking down the camper art show, and ready supplies for next session.
Skills Needed:
- Experience working with kids
- Word and Excel capabilities
- Ability to interact with each camper
- Good listening skills
