Visitor Policies

Personal Photography

  • Personal photography is permitted on Museum grounds, except where otherwise indicated by signage in the galleries.
  • Flash, tripods, and selfie sticks are not permitted.
  • Personal photographs may not be published or distributed for commercial use.

Professional & Commercial Photography

Personal photography and video sessions conducted by a professional photographer, as well as all commercial photography, require prior permission from the Museum and may incur associated fees. Requests can be sent to venuerentals@delart.org.

Personal Photo/Video Sessions

  • Includes engagement and wedding photos, proposals, maternity and family photos, prom, and graduation.
  • Must be scheduled in advance and occur outside of our normal operating hours.
  • A fee is charged for a one-hour, scheduled photo session with a licensed and insured photographer.
  • All participants must sign waivers and an agreement in advance.
  • Walk-up photo sessions are not accepted.
  • Requests can be sent to venuerentals@delart.org.

Commercial Photo/Film/Advertising Requests

  • Includes filming for television, movies, school projects, and commercials.
  • Must be scheduled in advance and occur outside of our normal operating hours.
  • Please send requests to venuerentals@delart.org.

Filming on Site

Guests may be filmed or photographed while on the Museum’s premises.

Press and media inquiries should be sent to DelArt’s Marketing Department at digitalmedia@delart.org.

Wi-Fi

  • Enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the Museum’s campus.

Safety & Security

Weapons of any kind, including firearms, are not permitted anywhere on the Museum’s campus.

Caring for the Art

Help us protect the artwork:

  • Please do not touch art in the galleries or in the Sculpture Garden.
  • Backpacks, food, and drink are not permitted in the galleries.
  • Free lockers are available in the coatroom.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome inside the Museum.

Visitor Conduct & Assistance

  • Museum Ambassadors are available throughout the Museum’s campus to answer questions and offer assistance.
  • The Delaware Art Museum is committed to providing a welcoming environment that encourages mutual respect for all, promotes civil and collaborative relationships, and is free from all forms of harassment and violence.
  • We treat each other professionally and with dignity, regardless of roles, responsibilities, or the nature of our contributions.
  • We ask that you be respectful to our staff and fellow visitors and follow our visitor policies. If you choose not to, we reserve the right to ask you to leave or revoke your membership or admission.
