Beginners Photography

This 8-week photography course is designed for beginners who want to develop their skills and learn the fundamentals of photography. Whether you are using a DSLR or a mirrorless camera, this course will guide you through the basics of capturing stunning images with confidence.
We will focus on camera operation, composition, light, exposure triangle, organizing your photographs and other aspects of photography. A combination of class instruction, hands-on assignments and field trips to interesting locations will enable you to apply what you learn. By the end of the course, you will have a foundational understanding of photography and a portfolio of images showcasing your progress.

Monday, 9/8/25 – 6PM to 9PM – Class
Sunday, 9/14/25 – 10AM to 1 PM – Field Trip
Monday, 9/15/25 – 6PM to 9PM – Class
Saturday, 9/20/25 – 10AM to 1 PM – Field Trip
Monday, 9/22/25 – 6PM to 9PM – Class
Monday, 9/29/25 – 6PM to 9PM – Class
Saturday, 10/4/25 – 10AM to 1 PM – Field Trip
Monday, 10/6/25 – 6PM to 9PM – Class
Required equipment: DSLR or mirrorless camera and a sturdy tripod. Kit zoom lenses will work.
Required software: Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom or similar programs
Optional: Cable or wireless shutter release.
